In a heartbreaking tragedy in Bangladesh, a school teacher named Maherin Chowdhury passed away while saving students from a fire after a fighter jet crashed into Milestone School in Dhaka.
The crash killed over 30 people, mostly children, and injured more than 170 others.
Despite the fire spreading, Maherin kept going back to rescue students, even when her clothes caught fire. When her husband begged her to leave, she said, “They are also my children.” Maherin, who taught English, passed away from severe burns.
She leaves behind her husband and two sons. Her bravery has touched many hearts across the country.
