Government Calls For Calm As Kwara / Ekiti Boundary Clash Claims One 

Ekiti State Government has disclosed that a combined team of soldiers, police and members of the Amotekun Corps had drafted  to the scene of the attacks in Edo Oniyo ,Ilejemeje Local Government.
This is sequel to the boundary clash  between Eda Oniyo Ekiti and Obo Ayegunle in Kwara State .
It was gathered that the festering  crisis escalated when armed men from Obo Ayegunle attacked Eda Oniyo on Saturday, leaving one person dead and several others injured .
The State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, assured that the situation has been brought under control.
He appealed to residents of Eda Oniyo in Ilejemeje Local Government Area of the State to remain calm over the attack on the community.
Olatunbosun who noted that one person from the community was reportedly killed in the fracas, stressed that soldiers, police and members of the Amotekun Corps had moved to the scene immediately to curtail the crisis.
The Commissioner however assured that additional troops had already moved to the area to protect the community while the Army formation in Kwara State has been contacted to deploy troops along Kwara side of the border in order to curtail further attack from both sides.
Reiterating the commitment of the Ekiti State Government to fostering peace and security across the State, Olatunbosun stressed the need for calm while the security agencies take charge of the situation, assuring that the perpetrators and their accomplices would be fished out and brought to justice.
He expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and prayed for the quick recovery of those affected by the incident.
