How Female Journalist Was Killed By Kidnappers – Father Recounts Daughter’s Kidnapping

Alhaji Suleiman Abdullahi , the father of the late Nimatullah Suleiman, shared a heartbreaking account of his daughter’s kidnapping and tragic death with crusaders Radio correspondent this afternoon at his residence in Bwari Abuja. Nimatullah, who had completed her national service and was working with a private radio station, resided in Jahi quarter. The incident occurred on a Thursday evening as she was returning home from work.
According to Abdullah, Nimatullah was dropped off at Bega Junction around 6:10 PM. Shortly after, at approximately 6:20 PM, she called her boss to inform him that she had been abducted and the kidnappers were demanding a ransom of one million Naira. Her boss communicated with the abductors, assuring them that efforts would be made to raise the money.
Despite some funds being transferred to the kidnappers, the exact amount remains unknown. Meanwhile, Nima’s uncle, Dauda, who was in Benin, attempted to track her location. For a brief period, they were able to trace her whereabouts, but contact was lost between 7:00 and 8:00 PM.
The kidnappers later sent a message to Nima’s elder brother, Mukhtar, instructing him to visit Maitama Hospital, where Nima had been taken in a critical condition. Out of concern for their father’s health, the family withheld the news from Abdullah until later that night. When Mukhtar and other family members arrived at the hospital, they found Nima in a deep state of unconsciousness.
Abdullah continued to wait anxiously at home, maintaining contact with his sons as they relayed updates from the hospital. His hopes were shattered when his son Nazir returned home around 2:00 AM, only to inform him with a nod that Nima had passed away.
The family is left devastated by the tragic loss, raising questions about the efficiency of the rescue efforts and the circumstances surrounding her death.
