_SUG Says Ido-Osi Constituency 1 Hopeful Represents Service-Driven Leadership_
The candidacy of Honourable Ayodeji Daniel Ogunbusuyi, the flag bearer of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) for Ido-Osi Constituency 1 in the Ekiti State House of Assembly election, has received a major boost as the Student Union Government (SUG) of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology (BOUESTI), Ikere-Ekiti, declared support for him.
The students also conferred an Award of Honour on the APM candidate in recognition of his service and leadership qualities that continue to resonate within the university community.
The award was presented by the General Secretary of the union during its Award Night ceremony and was received by Ogunbusuyi as part of Team IPHV.
Beyond the ceremony, observers say the honour points to a broader narrative steadily building around the Ido-Osi Constituency 1 hopeful — that of a leader whose political journey is rooted not in personal ambition, but in demonstrated commitment to the wellbeing of the people.
Those familiar with Ogunbusuyi’s engagements describe him as a candidate whose interest in elective office grew out of years of quiet, consistent service, long before politics came into the picture.
For Ido-Osi Constituency 1, a constituency whose needs span education, youth empowerment, infrastructure and economic opportunity, stakeholders argue that the service-first disposition is precisely the type of leadership required for meaningful transformation.
Rather than a campaign built on promises alone, Ogunbusuyi’s growing list of recognitions from academic institutions and community bodies is being read by many as independent validation of a track record that predates his political ambition.
Responding to the honour, Hon. Ogunbusuyi said he desires to be different by rendering impactful, quality and effective representation when given the mandate.
“My track records as community leader, youth leader and church administrator among others speak for me. I have no business deceiving anyone because I want votes. Impacting positively on the lives of others has been my nature from when I began to become a leader many years ago. And the records are there,” he said.
“I appreciate this recognition as this goes a long way to validate my usual statement that I exist to impart positively on other people’s lives. Let me have your mandate to represent you at the Ekiti State House of Assembly and see how greatly our impact shall be felt,” he added.
Associates of the candidate said as the countdown to the Assembly elections continues, his focus remains on the collective progress of Ido-Osi Constituency 1 rather than individual gain — a distinction they believe will define his representation.
