U.S. President Donald Trump says countries benefiting from oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz should reimburse the United States for its military efforts to keep the strategic waterway open.
Trump said countries that provided the U.S. with “no help whatsoever” “should, and will, reimburse” America once the conflict is over.
The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most important energy chokepoints, with disruptions carrying major consequences for global oil markets.
