Just in : Rescued Ekiti Girl recounts ordeal With Human  Traffickers In Mali 

An Ekiti Girl and  victim of human trafficking,  Oluwatosin Apata said she was sold to an agent by Abefe who attempted to lure her into prostitution.
Speaking at briefing by the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and Other Related Matters, Ekiti State Apata disclosed  that she spent 4month in Mali, before she was rescued.
Apata, who was until her ordeal was a graduate of Business Administration at the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, said she was lured for traveling purpose by an agent, Mr Ojo Apata, who later handed over to another agent enroute Seme boarder to Portnovo in Benin Republic, be she finally found herself on Bamako, the capital of Mali.
The victim who is currently recuperating at the office of the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and other Related Matters (NAPTIP) Ekiti State Chapter, said  she was on the road by land for about four weeks and went through many ordeals before she finally arrived the republic of Mail.
She explained that she was humiliated by the agent who is currently detained at the office of the NAPTIP in Ado-Ekiti, and later handed over to a senior officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) who later completed and  perfected the journey to the Republic of Mali where she was subjected to prostitution.
The physically and traumatized girl explained that she met many other victims who were also from Yoruba extraction in Bamako, Mali who were also engaged in prostitute
Lamenting over what she called traumatised by victims of Child Trafficking especially those in the Republic of Mali, explained that she stayed in the country for a month and some days before she came back to Nigeria.
“When I came back, I was physically derailed due to what I went through and what I saw in the place, my Mother thaught I was mentally derailled, I have been on drug since I came back I have been on drugs and still recuperating
The agency paraded  one of suspects , Ojo Abefe  a native of Ada, Osun State, was said to have sold two ladies including a minor to Mali for prostitution.
The  Head, National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and Other Related Matters, Mr. Oladimeji Samson confirmed that the suspect was handed over to the agency by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Ekiti State.
According to Mr. Samson, the act of human trafficking has become rampant in Ekiti State and must be stopped.
He confirmed that about twenty suspects have been arrested between January and now with 23 victims rescued.
