The Divisional Police Officer of New Haven Police Division
,Enugu State has been shot dead by unknown gunmen .
He was reportedly killed last night with two other officers at the popular block busstop, Chime Avenue, New Haven, Enugu North Local Government Area of the state.
Report from the ,locals said the deceased until death was driving down Chime avenue when he saw the gunmen driving in a sienna car, overtake the hilux van of the policemen.
“Immediately they overtook them (the policemen), they stopped and opened fire on them. I quickly reversed and entered the next street for safety.
“When we couldn’t hear the gunshot anymore, we came out and saw one policeman struggling with his life on the floor. We thought that’s the only victim until someone saw two more persons inside the drainage. The two officers inside the drainage were dead.
“We helped the Divisional Police Officer of New Haven Police Division to take the policeman to the hospital. Their guns were also carted away by the hoodlums.”
