Barrister Opeyemi Ogunremi ,counsel to the embattled Chief Medical Director of General Hospital, Ikere, Dr Olaoluwa Olubiyi has appealed to the members of the public not to escalate the disquiet between his client and his wife.
The counsel also clarified that the misunderstanding between his client and his wife was a family affairs .
Ogunremi Esq who ,in a statement admitted squabbles in the CMD family disclosed that concerted efforts were being made to resolve the matter inorder to save the union.
The statement reads “we are Counsel to the Chief Medical Director of General Hospital, Ikere, Dr Olaoluwa Olubiyi.
“In the last three days, we’ve been inundated with a lot of stories in the press regarding the disagreement between Dr Olaoluwa Olubiyi and his wife but we decided not to immediately respond because, one; it’s a family affair and two; both husband and wife, Dr Adenike Okubiyi are public servants in the employ of Ekiti State Government.
“However, in view of the twist of event over this matter, we’ve resolved to put the record straight with the intention of ensuring a harmonious relationship in the marriage for the sake of the family.
“In the first instance, we want to categorically state that the issue between Dr Olaoluwa Olubiyi and his wife, Dr (Mrs) Adenike Olubiyi is not a fresh issue but has been lingering for over two years.
“Moreover, it’s a family affair which has nothing to do with their respective official responsibilities and it is already being looked into by the family to avoid degerating into irreconcilable situation. Efforts are already in place to get across to both parties.
“We therefore want to plead with the members of the public to please treat this issue with caution so as not to disorganize the family and throw the children to evalasting sorrow”.It added .
