Migration Scam: 37 Australian Bound Ghanaians Rescued In Ekiti

 

 

Nigeria security and Civil Defence Corps ,Ekiti State Command has burst migration syndicate who specialized in defrauding aspiring migrants to Europe and America.

37 irregular migrants of Ghanaian origin were rescued in Ekiti by the men of the civil defence corps .

The State Commandant Mr Toma Matthew Enya disclosed that the victims were rescued along Afao road in Ado metropolis following an intelligence information on some people occupying a building without mingling with the people of the area.

According to him, the victims were lured from Ghana to Nigeria with a promise that they will relocate them abroad from Nigeria.

The victims were forced to pay about $1000 to $2000 dollars so that they can gain entry into Autralia from Nigeria without any plans for the victims to know the directions of their movement.

He said the victims were locked and kept away from the general public with a condition from their masters that they must recruit others from Ghana to join them in Nigeria if they want to earn commission.

Mr Toma Enya therefore advised Ekiti people to be conscious of their environment and report strange movements to the nearest Security Agency so that the prevailing peace in the state can be maintained.

The state commandant who said that the victims will be handed over to the appropriate agency for further investigation and possible relocation of the victims with their families in Ghana while investigation is ongoing to locate other victims within the region.
