The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN has disclosed that preliminary information indicated that 25 passengers and seven crew members were on board the aircraft before the incident .
He stated that the aircraft with tail number NGR 931, en route from Benin to Lagos crashed near the Naval Base in Igbokoda, Ondo State.
Keyamo said Air Traffic Controllers had earlier reported the disappearance of the aircraft at about 9:13 a.m., after efforts to establish radio contact with it proved unsuccessful.
He said the wreckage of the aircraft had subsequently been located close to the Naval Base in Igbokoda, while search and rescue operations were ongoing.
