* receives Community Service Award
The Obalodo designate, Tale Oguntoyinbo has called for the revival of the cultural heritage in Oye-Ekiti Kingdom with a view to showcasing it to the world .
Speaking at an Award Ceremony organised by Oye Progressives Union OPU) on weekend in Oye-Ekiti as part of the activities marking the 2023 Oye Day, Oguntoyinbo argued that the community is blessed with cultural values and if properly tap into could generate employment and huge revenue for the community.
Oguntoyinbo, former Ekiti State Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA) who was impressed by the spectacular performance by the Students of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) at the ceremony said the beautiful outing of the varsity cultural troope, was a big challenge to the community.
While thanking the town’s apex union for bestowing him with the highest honour ” Community Service Award” Oguntoyinbo promised to contribute his quota to the development of the community.
Another highlight of the ceremony was the contributions of about N300,000 by the friends and associates of Oguntoyinbo to the OPU.
Among the awardees were the Provost College of Medicine, FUOYE ,professor Leo Adegun and Chairman, CEO YEMKEM Ttadomedical Company, Dr Akintunde Ayeni.
Oguntoyinbo, who is a former Chairman of Oye Local Government expressed delight that many of his projects were living testimonies .
He used the occasion to appeal to other sons and daughters of Oye town to always ready to invest and give back to the community.
According to him, Oye-Ekiti which now hosts the Federal University is now the most populous and one of the farest growing communities in Ekiti .
The Obalodo designate thanked the current chairman of Oye Local Government, James Ajimoko for sustaining the pace of grassroots development in the Council.
He, however called on all and sundry to join with the monarch in ensuring the safety of lives and properties in the community.
Earlier in his remarks the Oloye of Oye Kingdom ,Oba Ademolaju Adegbole described Oguntoyinbo as one of the strong pillars in the community who is desirous of the town development.
The monarch said Oguntoyinbo’s love for the community was practically demonstrated when he was Council chairman, as the town recorded unprecedented infrastructural development, including the construction of the the town ‘a multi millionaire Civic Centre.
Among the dignitaries was the wife of the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti,Olori Abosede Adejuyigbe .
