Oba Ademolaju who expressed displeasure at the poor state of the electricity facilities urged governor Oyebanji to intervene and save the community from epileptic power supply caused by the dysfunctional facilities.
He said the situation has become worrisome that epileptic supply of electricity in the town has negatively affected the social and economic lives in the community.
The monarch explained that the outdated facility which was put in place since 1976 had negatively affected the supply of electricity to the Oye community.
Addressing journalists in Oye-Ekiti, Chief Oguntoyinbo dismissed the insinustions in some quarters that governor Biodun Oyebanji has not done anything tangible in the community since his assumption of office.
He said Oyebanji is doing a yeoman’s job on the ongoing Oye/Are Road, repairs of Oye township electricity, construction of the box culvert at the entrance of Ilodo quarters, along Old Oye/Ire Road, thereby saving people in the area from perennial erosion blockage .
He also said contract for the fencing of government college, Oye-Ekiti has been awarded by the BAO administration to prevent further encroachment on government land, and for the security of staff, students and property of the school.
Chief Oguntoyinbo therefore appealled to all indigenes of Oye-Ekiti, home and abroad to support the government of Biodun Oyebanji which he assured will soon address other demands from Oye community.
