The Obalodo of Oye kingdom Chief Bamitale Oguntoyinbo has charged landlords and hostels owners in the community to prioritise the issue of security.
Speaking at a meeting held at Ilodo Community, old Oye/ Ire Road, Obalodo stressed the need to ensure adequate security for the people living in the community .
According to him ,all hands must be on deck to work out a strategy on security that will assist to curb all forms of crime and criminality in the community.
The participants resolved to be coming together once in a month to deliberate on the security and the development of the area.
Obalodo used the occasion to acknowledge the impactful contributions of
the late Oloye of Oye Ekiti , Oba Jonathan Adebayo Aribatishe who reigned between 1942 to 1958 to the development of the present Oye kingdom.
While describing the late monarch as an embodiment of personality, whose reign and roles cannot be forgotten in history of Oye, particularly the movement of old Oye Kingdom to the modern Oye Kingdom.
He said, the late Oba Aribatishe the 2nd, was a courageous oba with foresight, diginity, honesty, and he was loved by Oye sons and daughters within and outside.
The meeting which was well attended by prominent community leaders, landlords and business owners, praised Obalodo for initiating the meeting .
The participants commended Chief Oguntoyinbo for his efforts to see that governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji constructed a box culvert at the entrance of Ilodo community to solve perennial erosion blockage at the entrance.
The Obalodo of Oye kingdom chief Bamitale Oguntoyinbo, used the opportunity of the meeting to appeal to the residents of the areas to come out in large numbers for the the voters registration and revalidation coming up next month, between 18th, and 25th, August.
