Ogbeni Oja Lodge: Late Queen Elizabeth Once passed a night here in 1956 

As the world continues to mourn tbe demise of Queen Elizabeth 11,Nigerians regaled the memories of her visit to the most populous black in the world.
Significantly, the late Queen passed a night at the Ijebu-Ode . (Ogbeni Oja) Lodge, Ijebu-Ode (built in 1939) owned by Chief Timothy Adeola Odutola,
The late Queen Elizabeth II slept there in 1956, during her Official visit to Nigeria.
Queen Elizabeth II was scheduled to visit only Ibadan, Enugu and Kaduna as the regional capitals.
She requested her visit be rerouted to include Ijebu-Ode to enable her visit Chief Timothy Adeola Odutola, the Ogbeni Oja, her father’s friend who usually wined and dined with the royals at Buckingham Palace.
