Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s ally, Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as “Ajagungbade Emir,” has reportedly been shot dead in Ile-Ife.
According to Ireporter Online, Oyeyemi was killed on Sunday by suspected hoodlums during a dispute reportedly linked to the control of a garage in the ancient city.
The incident has prompted a swift response from Governor Adeleke, who directed the Commissioner of Police in Osun State to arrest all those involved in the killing.
Adeleke also ordered rival groups involved in the dispute to immediately vacate the motor parks and directed the establishment of a Park Management System to restore order across the state’s motor parks and garages.
The governor, through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, called for calm among residents and directed security agencies to restore normalcy in all affected motor parks while maintaining law and order across the state.
