Pomp As SUBEB Boss ,Council Chairman Others Join BAOWALK To Governor Oyebanji’s Country Home, Ikogosi

The people of Ikogosi+Ekiti and the adjoining communities trooped out in their numbers to participate in the 8th edition of the BAO Walk .

Ikogosi, the natural wonder town which hosts the Ikogosi Cold & Warm Springs ,is also the country home of the incumbent governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.

Some high profile politicians and top government functionaries from the area joined the large crowd of participants in the routine physical fitness .

The convener and former Lawmaker representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency I, Bimbo Daramola(alias congressman) said the initiative is to promote healthy living.

According to him the ,BAO Walk ,which had pulled over 30,000 residents across seven Local Government Areas in the state, is self-funded with no personal ambition other than to support the reelection bid of governor Oyebanji.

Addressing participants,Daramola who expressed gratitude for the turnout, also underscored the importance of personal responsibility in health management.

“It’s been a long walk, but we are grateful to God that people showed interest. The Governor has done so much for healthcare at the grassroots, and many people don’t even know as much as they should.

“By what we have done today, people who didn’t know the road to the healthcare facilities provided by the Governor trooped out for the exercise. My fulfillment will be in the sustainability of this initiative”.Daramola said .

In his remarks ,Professor Femi Akinwunmi, Chairman of the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), thanked Daramola for sustaining the initiative.

The SUBEB Boss equally appreciated Governor Biodun Oyebanji for creating an enabling environment for community wellness programs.

Hon Johnson Adeoye, representing Ekiti West Constituency II in Ekiti State House of Assembly, praised the walk as an opportunity for people to embrace fitness.

The Chairman of Ekameta Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Leye Adeniji, also commended Daramola, adding that the walk has inspired him to replicate such activities in his own council area very soon.
