The Professional Transport Officers’ Association of Nigeria (PTON) has announced the immediate and indefinite suspension of the of its Edo State chapter chairman , Mr Enofe Eriyo Michael.
The National President of the Association, Prof. Ezekiel Babalola, in a statement said the suspension has been ratified by the Board of Trustees(BoT) as well as the National Executives Council.
The statement reads:
“the action is being taken due to his lack of accountability to the Association’s funds, lack of adequate understanding of Edo State transportation system, drinking habits, and also, lack of respect to the national office, and, to the Edo State diaspora body that has been supporting the growth of the union and suspect to the use and abuse of drugs, lack of leadership skills, self-centered to his own interest and not to the interest to the union’s growth
“Therefore, I the national chairman had earlier sent his suspension letter to him and copied all the state security architecture to help execute the recovery of all the Association’s properties and documents in his possession to the acting chief deputy operation and secretary till further notice.
The National President said the following people will know pilot the affairs of the Association, they are: Deputy Operation Mr Umoru Odion Odianose and Secretary, Omoruyi Henrry, Admin, Ogbeide Ihama Oghomwen, Deputy logistics, Saliu Braimoh the treasure, Balogban Osagiator Chairman Oredo Bobby Eriyo , Christopher Aibangbe , Chife Odogun.
Investigation on the union funds is ongoing until my visit to Benin City, Edo State, to meet with the governor for empowerment and commitment to support his administration for a better Edo transportation system.
