In a rare and heartwarming family milestone, Dr Hazel P Berrard Amuah and her daughter, Adwuwa Fynna Nhyira Berrard Quayson, have been called to the Ghana Bar at the same ceremony, officially becoming Barristers and Solicitors of the Supreme Court of Ghana.
The mother and daughter were among the newly qualified lawyers admitted to the Bar on Friday, October 9, 2026, achieving what many families celebrate separately – but they have achieved together
While many families celebrate graduations and professional achievements separately, the two now have something unusual to share: they have entered the legal profession together.
For Dr Hazel, the achievement adds another dimension to a career spanning more than 28 years in corporate leadership, human resource management, insurance and business consultancy. Her daughter, Nhyira, begins her own professional journey in law.
Dr Hazel has built an extensive career across several sectors, including a stint as the first female Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Life Insurance Ghana, a position she held until April 2024.
