Reclaiming Our Humanity

Our world is tearing apart, not with a crash, but with a quiet unravelling masked by noise, laughter, and digital distraction.
Families are increasingly gathered under one roof but disconnected as each member is immersed in their phones, TVs, or tablets, limiting meaningful conversations and bonding.
Traditional shared moments like family meals, game nights, or storytelling are replaced by isolated screen time, eroding emotional connection
Parents now use screens to occupy children, reducing real human engagement needed for emotional and cognitive development.
Children now mimic what they see on screen since parents are always on devices, sad to see how many of them now grow up believing that virtual connection is more important than face to face human interaction.
Couples now communicate more via text ignoring each others physical connection and attention, weakening emotional intimacy.
Some partners even turn to social media or online spaces for validation or connection instead of resolving issues directly while the one who observe and confront this decadence is stigmatized as an attention seeker.
We now celebrate superficial friendship and connections when likes and comments have replaced deep, authentic conversations.
People know each other’s updates but not their true struggles.
Decline in In person Interaction and social participation because many people now prefer texting or voice notes over meeting up, reducing the quality of friendships.
While technology has benefits like convenience, access to information, and global communication, it is badly replacing the human touch that forms the core of relationships and the result is a society that is more connected but less intimate, more informed but less understanding.
Reclaiming our humanity means being intentional about limiting and regulating tech use, and prioritizing engagements that will make us keep real life touch with human.
