Hon Akin Rotimi, the Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs for the 10th National Assembly has agreed in principle to deliver the maiden edition of the Biodun Akin- Fasae Annual Public Lecture.
The programme is being organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti Council, in honour of a veteran journalist and first Chief Press Secretary in Ekiti State, Chief Biodun Akin Fasae.
An official statement from the NUJ Secretariat hinted that the House of Representatives spokesperson will speak on the theme: “The Media and Artificial Intelligence, AI,”.
The NUJ Chairman, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi, says the event will take place on Friday, the 27th of March, 2026, at the Sanni Abacha Hall, Okebarike, Old Governor’s Office, Ado Ekiti, by 10 a.m.
The event will also feature a panel discussion on the topic “Holding Government Accountable: The Best Approach.”
Another highlight of the event will be the conferment of National Awards of Excellence, as approved by the NUJ National President, Alhaji Alhassan Yahaya to some distinguished personalities in Ekiti .
Among them are the guest lecturer , Ekiti State Commissioner for Youth Development, Gold Adesola, Commissioner for Information, Chief Taiwo Olatubosun, and the Chief Executive Officer of YSJ Agro Allied Limited, Oluwayemisi Joluwe.
