There was pandemonium in Ikere-Ekiti,the second largest town in Ekiti State ,as dare devil armed robbers attacked two commercial banks.
Atleast three persons feared killed while several others sustained various degrees of gunshots wounds in the almost one hour gun attack .

Among the injured were some operatives of Amotekun corps after the bandits attacked their base in the town before looting the banks
Report from the locals had it that the robbers , in a well cordinated attacks invaded Wema bank and Access bank located at Odo Oja and Okeosun respectively and broke the security door with the aid of dynamite before entering the banking hall.
The hoodlums who operated from two dimension reportedly carted away unspecified huge sum of money from the two banks.
Confirming the incident in a telephone chat with our reporter, the Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti, Oba Adejimi Alagbado expressed shock at the robbery incident, describing it as unfortunate.
He said it was unfortunate the armed robbers carried out the operations for several minute unhindered and escaped despite presence of military checkpoints and Police Area Command in the town.
Oba Alagbado said he has discussed the matter with the security agents and that those who carried out the dastard act must be arrested and prosecuted.
“It is an unfortunate incident that we do not expect to happen. The attacks were on two commercial banks. I have called the Area Commander, DPO and DSS and they have all assured the soldiers around the axis have been alerted”.
The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, OGUNDARE DARE has visited the scene of armed robbery incident at Ikere-Ekiti for an on-the-spot assessment.
The Commissioner, who expressed his displeasure over the ugly incident, directed the Ikere Area Commander and all the Tactical Teams within the Command to ensure the perpetrators are trailed, arrested and brought to book.
While commiserating with the family members of those who were fatally affected and wishing those currently receiving treatment in the hospital a quick recovery, the Commissioner calls for calm and implores everyone to go about their lawful businesses as the Command will not rest until the hoodlums are made to face the full wrath of the law.
Meanwhile, the Command’s tactical squads as well as the military who were deployed to the scene immediately information was received, engaged the hoodlums who abandoned the three vehicles and two motorcycles they used for the operation and escaped into the bush.
