A ranking member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Bamisile, has branded the second term endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji, as the most remarkable gift for the Ekiti State All Progressives Congress members at Easter.
Bamisile, who is representing Ekiti South Federal Constituency II, posited that such action , taken by leaders of the All Progressives Congress, had sent a wave of ecstasy across the length and breadth of the State.
Meanwhile, the former speaker celebrated with Ekiti citizens on the occasion of Easter, symbolising the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, urging them to take a cue from the lessons of sacrifice and brotherhood typified by the festivity.
APC Ekiti caucus leaders, including former Governors Niyi Adebayo and Kayode Fayemi, among other bigwigs in the National Assembly, had at its meeting held in Iyin Ekiti, on Friday, unanimously endorsed President Tinubu and Governor Oyebanji for second term.
Bamisile said this in a statement issued by his Media Office in Abuja and released to journalists in Ado Ekiti, on Saturday.
Commending on the endorsement, he described as a game changer towards the 2027 presidential poll and 2026 governorship electoral battle in the state, Bamisile stated that the action further accentuated the fact that the ruling APC is a united party.
He said with the action, the party can now cohesively approach the two elections as one indivisible family and win resoundingly to maintain its stronghold on the nation.
“With this endorsements for President Tinubu and Governor Oyebanji, the APC leaders in Ekiti State had demonstrated unity of purpose and readiness to approach the two elections with a united front.
“I salute the leadership of the party in Ekiti State under our Acting Chairman, Hon. Sola Elesin, for showing that our party is solidly behind these great leaders.
“With their endorsements and good prognosis of winning resoundingly, the two leaders can have further opportunity to deliver democracy deliver to Nigerians”, Bamisile stated.
However, the APC leader rejoiced with Ekiti citizens at Easter and urged that the citizens embraced unity and love, as exemplified by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Bamisile said Nigeria can only progress and develop when citizens are united, sacrificial, lovely and patriotic to their country.
