The Kwara State Police Command has said that two suspected kidnappers have been shot dead inside evil forest in the state.
The command said the suspects were sharing loots they forcefully got from one of their victims at a bush at Moro LGA on Tuesday night.
Spokesperson of the police in Kwara, Ajayi Okasanmi, who said effort was on to get the fleeing members of the gang arrested, stated: “The kidnappers were accosted in the bush by the command’s tactical team, supported by vigilantes and hunters, while sharing the ransom collected from the family of the victims.
The hoodlums who were chanced by the operatives, while sharing the money they made from a kidnap operation, of one Afusat Lawal and her son, Taofeek, were said to have engaged the police in a shootout and under a superior firepower, met their Waterloo The incident, it was gathered.
They opened fire on the operatives immediately they were sighted. During exchange of fire, two of them that suffered gunshot injuries were arrested and taken to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) where they were confirmed dead.”
