Invest In Technology To Curb Insecurity , Brain Drain – FUOYE VC Charges FG 

The  Vice Chancellor, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE),Professor Abayomi Fasina has urged the Federal to invest more in technology with a view  to tackling  the growing  insecurity and brain drain in Nigeria.
Speaking at the pre-convocation Press Conference for the 8th Convocation,  Fasina also admonished the Federal government to make  learning environment more conducive for students.
The VC called on government  to be more innovative  and  invest in robotic  technology to tackle  the menace of kidnapping and banditry.
Professor Fasina said the University is growing in leaps and bounds as no fewer than 30 of its  lecturers  were listed in the global scholars Ranking List .Fasina said three distinguished Nigerians, Senator  Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, Senate Leader, Senator Solomon Adeola and Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu will be awarded honorary doctorate degrees, while the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, will be the Special Guest of Honour.
The Convocation lecture, will be delivered by the Registrar, JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Olanrewaju Oloyede, on Saturday.
Giving the breakdown of graduands ,the VC said the University will be producing 114 First Class products,out of  a total of  6, 563  graduating students . Others are :  36 PhD, MSc 163, 2,762 with Second class Upper, 2,793, Second Class Lower, and PGD 7.
The V. C hinted  that one of his achievements ,is the establishment of  the College of Medicine, and the first sets of  students admitted to the school.
Prof. Fasina, gave his score card in his 3-year administration in  the university, saying he has surpass his 20 points agenda, promising that  he would continue to improve  upon them and be more innovative.
“30 of our scholars are listed in world ranking, while the institution is the 4th most sought after university in Nigeria”
According to him, all Nigerians  Must stay together  and be united to develop the nation to be more prosperous.”We should use the resources we have to sustain our human and capital development.
Prof. Fasina, pointed out that his future  aspiration for the university, is to build a 6-floor befitting Senate building, professorial building for professors, green revolution and a post doctoral system,  before his tenure ends, among others.
