Nollywood star Adunni Ade has triumphed in her defamation lawsuit against a Nigerian news platform that falsely linked her to an alleged romantic relationship with Senator Dino Melaye.
The actress, who had filed a ₦100 million suit nearly two years ago, secured a ₦20 million judgment in her favour, marking a major victory in her fight to protect her reputation.
The controversy began after the media outlet published a report naming Adunni Ade among “six popular Nigerian celebrities” allegedly involved with the former lawmaker. The actress swiftly condemned the report as false, describing it as a deliberate attempt to tarnish her image and invade her privacy.
Following a lengthy legal battle, the court ruled in her favour, ordering the outlet to pay ₦20 million in damages.
