Former Nigerian President, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GEJ) has delivered a keynote address at the opening of the two- day Gambian Parlimentary Workshop in Banjul,the capital.
Dr Jonathan in his remarks said parliament plays a key role in fostering political accountability
He emphasised that democracy works better when parliamentarians promote interparty collaboration around viable initiatives for public good.
The Gambian parliament in Banjul was organised by the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation (GJF) in collaboration with the ECOWAS Parliament.
A statement personally sent to GHnews by the former Nigerian leader said
“I joined other participants to make the point that parliament plays a key role in fostering political accountability and emphasise that democracy works better when parliamentarians promote interparty collaboration around viable initiatives for public good.”
