The Chairman, House of Assembly Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon Adeoye Aribasoye, has disclosed that no fewer than seven communities benefitted from his numerous projects in the last three and half years .
The lawmaker who represents Ikole Constituency 2 spoke in Ayedun-Ekiti, during the yelutide celebrations, where he distributed consumables worth N3 million
In addition Aribasoye spoke of how he had ,during the Covid 19 pandemic experienced in 2020 facilitated at least N30 million soft loan to the area, where hundreds of my constituents benefited to establish small scale businesses.
He said the 20 solar electricity street lights project he donated to the 7 communities in the area have helped in boosting the social lives of his constituents and in curbing the rampancy of midnight kidnapping and killings, being experienced by residents.
He said: “I have facilitated seven multimillion naira worth Solar – powered boreholes to wit; Iyemero Ekiti, Esun Ekiti, Ipao Ekiti, Oke Ako Ekiti, Ijowa Ekiti, Irele Ekiti and Ayebode Ekiti. They are all functional, aside from the Solar street lights worth N2m I funded to improve the social lives of my people.
“You are all aware of the Kidnappings and killings that had been witnessed in my constituency of recent. The street lights had helped in providing security at night by way of illuminating our environment, so that our local hunters can police our communities easily.
“I also donated a motorized borehole at the cost of N1.2m at Odo -Ayedun Ekiti to provide potable water and improve the wellbeing of the people.
“I have also facilitated the grading of internal roads, the completion of Ele bridge linking Itapaji and Iyemero; reconstruction of Arinkin bridge linking Oke Ako and Ijowa; completion of health centre at Oke Ayedun; reconstruction of St Stephens primary school at Ayebode Ekiti and donation of N100,000 to the Federal University, Oye Ekiti distant learning centre at Ayedun Ekiti which I also ensured the released of the school premises to the host communities by government.
“During the pandemic, I attracted COVID-19 loans worth more than N30m to my constituency where hundreds of people were captured to boost small scale businesses in the area”.
The Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs who doubles as the Chief Whip of the house, stated that he had sponsored four bills and moved several motions that had smoothened governance and impacted positively on the wellbeing of his constituents.
‘”They include; Ekiti State Gender-Based Violence (Prohibition (First Amendment) Bill 2020, Ekiti State Property Protection or Anti-Grabbing Bill 2020, a Bill for the amendment and renaming the university of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere Ekiti Amendment Law 2020 and Ekiti State Electricity Board Bill 2020″.
Aribasoye revealed that he had been partnering notable leaders of the All Progressives Congress like its Senatorial Candidate in Ekiti North, Cyril Fasuyi, a House of Representatives Candidate, Akin Rotimi and commissioner for Finance, Akin Oyebode, to put smiles on the faces of his constituents.
“For the Christmas and New year’s festivities, I partnered these able leaders for the donation of cash, rice and other consumables to my constituents, so that they can enjoy the dividends of democracy and that is why they have to vote for leaders who valued their existence in the coming general elections”.
Aribasoye added that hundreds of his constituents, had also benefited from series of skills acquisition, trainings and empowerment programmes he initiated to reinforce the masses’ capacities in terms of economic viability and relevance.
